WORK HISTORY:
Jason received a BA in History from James Madison University in 1996, with honors, and a law degree from the Case Western University School of Law in 2000. He was admitted to the Ohio State Bar in November of 2000 while clerking for Judge John R. Hoffman in the Stark County Court of Common Pleas during 2000 and 2001. Jason was then an associate attorney with Rauser & Associates Co., L.P.A. in Cleveland, Ohio from the fall of 2001 to the fall of 2002. Jason continued his practice with Gruber, Haren, Thomas & Co. beginning in 2002 as an associate and then became a principal and officer in the firm where he continues his practice. Jason is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and is also admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern District of Ohio and the Western District of Michigan.
EXPERIENCE:
Jason’s practice is focused in the areas of business, commercial, employment and real estate related litigation and transactions. In his litigation practice, Jason has a high success rate in representing businesses, both large and small, as well as individuals. Jason has successfully represented business clients in Ohio state courts, Ohio appellate courts, U.S. Federal Courts, arbitration organizations, Stark County Board of Revisions, Ohio Board of Tax Appeals, local zoning boards, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Ohio Civil Rights Commission, Ohio Department of Commerce, Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and other various Ohio administrative agencies. Jason is experienced in municipal law and was the Solicitor for the Village of Meyers Lake from 2012 to 2019. In addition to practicing in litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution, Jason’s practice also includes transactional work, including the drafting of substantial contracts, corporate and employment documents and other legal documents for business and real estate transactions and operating matters.
PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS AND AFFILIATIONS:
Jason is a an elected member of the Stark County Bar Association Executive Committee, as well as a member of the Stark County Bar Association Real Estate Committee and the Community Involvement Committee. The Community Involvement Committee organizes and participates in community charitable work and other events for the benefit of the residents of Stark County. Jason is also an active member in the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Building Industry Association of Stark County, currently on the Program & Education Committee. Jason was formerly the legal counsel for the Canton Junior Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Canton Preservation Society and was active on the Fundraising Committee.
CIVIC ASSOCIATIONS AND AFFILIATIONS:
Jason is an active and involved lifelong resident of Stark County, Ohio. He is currently a Board Member and Vice President of Ridgewood Preservation Incorporated and Ridgewood Homeowners Neighborhood, Inc., both of which support a historic residential area in Canton, Ohio. Jason is also currently a member of the St. Peter School Scholarship Committee which raises tuition assistance funds for elementary school children. He is also an active member of the Greater Canton Aquatic Association which helps support, promote and honor swimmers and divers, past and present, in Stark County. Formerly, Jason was on the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee Member for St. Peter Church.
